Incorporating specialty ink into a design works out best when it reinforces the concept rather when added as an afterthought. The latter approach can end up feeling forced and never works out quite as well.

The designer wanted a way to complement the rich texture in his design and add interest to the text. I chose a plush ink, worked into the gritty text simulating dirt. The resulting effect combines a great photoreal print of the baseplate with a soft, complementary texture detail.
