Hydrochromic ink prints opaque white that loses opacity. You might have seen it printed on an umbrella or a novelty raincoat.

Part of my development work for the Hurley team was finding applications for the technique in their swimwear and accessories. The tricky part of hydrochromic ink is finding the right balance of screen mesh and layers of ink to cover colors printed below but still vanish enough when wet.

There’s nothing worse than investing in an expensive ink trick only to find out that the results you need are out of reach.
