TECHNIQUE DEVELOPMENT

Part of a product evaluation, I developed a series of special effect treatments using a glow in the dark black ink. I setup various artwork scenarios and versions of the ink with high density, puff and gloss additives.
Testing showed that the bright glow we desired would only be achieved when a strong black light was used. Though the effect was interesting, our consumer would likely never get to see the effect work properly. Complex ink and production techniques are not worth it if they aren’t going to get reactions that drive sales.
